Meg Martinez is an actor, singer, comedian, and writer based in New York City. They are a member of Actor's Equity Association and hold a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from Brown University. They also studied in Carnegie Mellon University's Dramaturgy program and New York University's Master's of Music in Music Theatre Vocal Performance.
Meg has been seen in such roles as the titular nanny in Mary Poppins, Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Petra in A Little Night Music, Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show, Imogen in Cymbeline, Sister James in Doubt, and Susan in [title of show]. They have also performed as a soloist in Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer, Haydn's Missa in tempore belli, Vaughan Williams’ Magnificat, and Rutter's Gloria. Meg is also a cast member with Spectacular Performances and Events, portraying classic princesses, villains, and superheroes. Meg is a comedy writer and comedian with Imposters Theater, based in Cleveland, OH, and was a founding member of their resident sketch group, The Imposters. Their sketches and performances have been featured on Imposters Comedy's Instagram and YouTube channel, as well as at live venues such as Pickwick and Frolic, Mahall's, and the Winchester. They were also a member of Cleveland sketch groups Girl Boss Babies and Benihana Waitstaff. They have studied sketch comedy, improv, and clowning at Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City. As a choral singer, Meg studied with the late Grammy-winning conductor Dr. Robert Page and sang at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Strathmore in Washington, D.C., and Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh. They were also hand-picked by Dr. Page to be a member of the All-Star College Chorus with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Pops, performing in a special tribute concert for Marvin Hamlisch as well as the PSO's Valentine's Day concert series. Meg also has experience in quick-change wardrobe crew, directing, casting, and stage management. Outside of the theatre, you can often find Meg playing with their dog, creating new vegan recipes, or (re)watching The Golden Girls. |
